Garden Party 2011

Our 2011 Garden Party was held on 9 July. All week we had heavy showers of rain so we really hoped the showers would miss the Resource Centre this day, and we were lucky.
People started to arrive at 2.30.p.m. and were greeted with a drink of Joyce's homemade elderflower cordial. We had an hour for people to either chat with other VISTA members or if they wanted they could try their hand at bar skittles or garden bowls. At 3.30.p.m. we had a group of singers entertain us with a selection of all kinds of songs. After that the raffle was drawn and then it was time to eat. The social committee had decided on a finger buffet as they thought it might be easier to deal with if we were lucky enough to be able to sit outside. We had sandwiches, quiche, pizza, some salad bits and various other savoury snacks followed by a selection of scones with strawberries and cream and various cakes.
Everyone who attended seem to enjoy themselves and of course having a lovely sunny afternoon helped make the day.
Many thanks to all who helped in any way from putting up gazebos, serving food and drinks and eventually clearing away.
