QUIZ EVENING 2006

On Wednesday 13 September, twenty two members turned up at the Resource Centre for a quiz night. Lorraine Tideswell stepped in at the last minute to pose as questionmaster despite having a sore throat herself. We had four teams, each with sighted and VIs, and the questions began. Halfway through the quiz, we had a break with coffee, tea, and cakes. Two of our number, Norman Tydeswell and Tony Jenks, had both recently had 65th birthdays and were given a card and a gift from VISTA and then asked to cut the cakes - yes, there were more than one! The second half of the quiz then took place followed by another different kind of quiz called "touchy/feely", which was aimed at VIs even though the sighted members had as much fun. After all the scores were added up, the team named "Thongsters" were declared the winners. I must hasten to add, this team made up of Keith, Julia, Eric, Tony and Edwina were by far the noisiest and I reckon they were only given the prize to shut them up!! Thanks to all who made the evening an enjoyable one.
